What's a Spirit with No Soul?

Within the waters we are composed,

Our bodies seek replenishment divine,

We seek the same water thirst would impose,

The same liquid that shapes our design,

Yet when our souls thirst, arid,

Earth's offerings fail to please,

Seeking solace, finding none to adorn,

Our essence transcends earthly decrees,

In the absence of purpose,

A vital element in life's relentless flow, we stray,

Yet, embracing each dawn becomes our home,

For without the embrace, mere survival is all we’ll ever know,

In search of sustenance,

We strive to cherish and find comfort deep,

Through the divine or a force beyond,

We seek an anchor to hold steep,

In this realm, mystique abound,

With wonder and awe, we gaze,

In this realm, spiritual life is intertwined,

Acknowledging our limits, comprehension is hazed,

Yes, the earth plays a role, unraveling its truths,

Yet it can't encompass all, in answers it won't reside,

As we ponder and delve into our souls,

In the presence of the unknowable, through change we abide,

As we tend to our spirits, enlightenment dawns,

Awareness blossoms—the body's nurture restarts,

With our spirits touched, we rediscover our own,

For a spirit untraveled is a soul unknown.
