Christina M. Tapper

Christina M. Tapper is a self-taught collage artist focusing on the beauty and complexity of becoming and belonging. She uses the art form to explore how impermanence, liminality, selfhood, and agency shape who we are. Connections between identity, place, and time emerge in Christina’s handmade collages, which primarily center Black women and girls. Her experience as a professional journalist — writing, editing, and producing stories across sports, culture, and women’s interests across print, digital, and audio outlets — informs her approach to story, feeling, and form in her art. Christina currently lives and works in New York City.
