This memoir session invites us to journey in conversation with the “Motherhood” archetype — because inevitably, in our memoirs, stories about motherhood in its various forms arise. Let’s use this opportunity to be present with these stories and channel their wisdom intentionally through self-witnessing and authentic self-expression.

In this immersion, we will hold space for:

• Mothers to (re)tell their birth story(ies)

• Mothers-to-be to write their dreams of motherhood

• Pregnancy experiences and outcomes (birth, abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, other.)

• Processing the mothering experience — mother wounding, connecting with mothers or mother figures who have transitioned, relationship with Mother Nature, etc.

• Connecting with the inner mother

• Connecting with the inner child

We will use the sacred tools of poetry, intuitive writing, and scaffolding writing prompts inspired by the words of other women of color memoirists to integrate experiences of motherhood and conjure new energy on motherhood in our lives.
