Inner space cultivation; abundant expression & authentic truth

Thank you for your desire to contribute to this anthology of writing and intimate literature; thank you for being a necessary part of this community.

Issue 2: “Patience”

The 2024 theme for the Wellspringwords platform is “Sinking into Self-Trust”.

Using our Literary Anthology, we will continue to explore, as a collective, what it feels like to sink into the authentic experience of Self. In this Autumn/Winter issue, we are exploring the patience required in crafting ourselves and the lives we consciously choose.

Submissions are currently closed. We are joyfully now in our reading period and look forward to presenting a nourishing issue in mid-November.

Meet the Editorial Team for this issue…

We love to collaborate with passionate writers, readers, and community builders when crafting each issue of our Literary Anthology. Our Editorial Team rotates and is always diverse, intentional, trauma-informed, and involves community members who embody the ethos of Wellspringwords in their own unique ways.

Nkem Chukwumerije

California, USA

Nkem is the Founder of Wellspringwords and has been a teacher of writing for 12+ years. She is a heartist devoted to creating spaces for humans, especially women of color, to journey inward and align with their unique creative wisdom. She uses her passion for and expertise in writing, embodiment, and energy cultivation to create portals for internal transformation and authentic external creative expression. She is inspired by the soul-to-human experience, the wisdom of nature, and the magic of intention and belief. She is here to guide and empower through the sacred Self experience.

Nkem is the author of the poetry collection Poetry and the immediate: A collection of sensed spaces, loves to dance, cook, enjoy warm creamy drinks in the morning, and take long walks to connect with Gaia.

Price Maccarthy

Ghana

Price Maccarthy (she/her) is a visually impaired writer from Ghana and Nigeria with a penchant for autobiographical prose and poetry. She hopes to someday fully pen her — sometimes comical but often hard-hitting — life experiences into a piece she is proud of. For this issue, she appreciates opportunities to reflect on her experiences in cultivating a balance between action and waiting. Apart from living for the art of chronic procrastination, Price loves good food, books that make her cry, and dark humor (no pun intended). Price is also a 2024 Wellspringwords Writing Fellow.

Maia Caschera-White

Toronto, Canada

Maia Evelyn Caschera-White (she/her) is a young contemporary poet with a voice encapsulating many lifetimes. A Mother, who now stands advocating for the right of every Mother to autonomy and self-determination. She writes with cathartic surrender, a wailing reminiscent of the dark night of the soul. She embodies motherhood beautifully, in word, and in deed, birthing, nurturing and guiding all who dare to listen. Gifted with the poetic ability to translate repressed trauma into words, leading us through the essential courageous steps necessary for our healing, self-discovery and ultimate joy. She gives definition to that which cannot be defined. Brings to our vision the unseen. She knows that while mourning may last for a night, enlightenment comes in the morning.

Kaleigh MacDonald

Calgary, Canada

Kaleigh is a multidimensional and passionate leader, seer, transformer, connector, writer, poet and lover of God who finds her greatest purpose in empowerment and becoming more of the wholeness of our potential as our Creator intended and designed us to be. She is known for her massive heart, her profound wisdom, and her capacity to feel and see deeply. Her intimate relationship with writing started at a young age through journaling and poetry and is a pathway for her to witness and transform any feeling or emotion; contemplate and understand the world and her experiences; explore her desires, imagination, creativity and play; embody her unique voice; and become more of her authentic self. She is honoured to serve on the editorial team for this issue and aims to give back even more than she knows she will receive from this beautiful community of writers.
