While we often consider expression to be an external energetic output into the world, previous instances of expression begin as sensation within and along our bodies. And before internal and embodied sensation, expression takes hold as spiritual sensation or “inner knowing”, coming from a “beyond” place.
In this session, we will explore all three types of expression: inner knowing, emotional and embodied, and external, through a special creative embodiment and writing immersion.
Through a potent Qigong Earth-based standing meditation practice, we will glean wisdom from our root experiences — our bones, our structure, our physicality — and even deeper, our body’s knowing and ancestral wisdom that lives in, through, and around us. In this practice, we will explore our own anatomy and the anatomy of our authentic expression.
Interwoven through our meditative experience, we will channel learned insights into sacred writing through poetry.
Standing meditation is challenging. It is hard. And this is the point. Living as an Earthling is hard — it is material, it is substantial, it is dense — and it is challenging and complex. But our Earthly experiences, through the body and bones, are not for nothing. There is always wisdom swimming through the layers of our existence, present in each moment. This immersion makes space for wisdom and honors the role of the multidimensional body in our sacred storytelling.
