Resurgence

Digital painting, textured dry brush and digital pencil (hb), 2024

In this piece, it captures a figure (representing myself) suspended between vulnerability and resilience. The raw, textured brushstrokes and loose lines create a form that is both shadowed and emerging, suggesting a state of transformation or introspection.

Her posture—crouched and grounded—feels primal, evoking themes of rebirth or self-discovery. The muted palette enhances the sense of solitude, while the minimalistic lines leave room for ambiguity, inviting viewers to project their own experiences of strength, survival, or inward exploration onto the piece. This artwork, like much of my work, serves as a mirror for the viewer’s subconscious, offering a haunting glimpse into the universal struggle for inner understanding and ongoing transmutation.

Bare

Digital ink, digital illustration, 148 x 210mm (A5), 2022

This piece was created while I was personally practicing letting go of the need to have so much control over my own perception and blurring the lines between explicit and implicit when it comes to the perception of our bare bodies — depicting a certain vulnerability and raw sensuality, evoking a sense of unguarded intimacy. The abstraction of her face draws more focus to the body, giving the viewer the decision to choose how they interpret her body and current vulnerability.

Phases in Reflection

Digital painting, 210x210mm, 2024

Feelings of a sense of introspection and stillness. Sitting in a slightly curled pose — the feeling of protection and quiet grace in between light and shadow. The muted, earthy background creates a serene and (emotionally) warm atmosphere, enhancing the focus on the figure’s soft and rounded contours and evoking a range of emotions. An invitation to reflect on self-connection, quiet strength and peace, and the beauty of still moments — taking a moment for peace in this journey of being and looking at yourself in different phases
